Domaine Monin in Vongnes

For more than 80 years Domaine MONIN has represented the tradition of the best quality wines of the Bugey AOC. Taken over in 2015 by Charles Varin-Bernier, winegrower and also Maître Fromager, Maturing Artisan, passionate about great products, he relaunches the adventure of Domaine MONIN convinced of the hidden treasures of this region.

The well-exposed plots are all located in the heart of Nature and mountains, facing the Alps, on the right bank of the Rhone, between 200 and 450 meters above sea level, in beautiful landscapes.

This rich terroir, clay-limestone, allows their wines to express themselves fully by exalting all their aromas and their balance in the mouth. At the crossroads of various wine regions, the AOC BUGEY has inherited several renowned grape varieties such as Pinot noir, Gamay, Mondeuse in red and Chardonnay in white.

The MONIN Estate has the great distinction of owning 2 hectares on the Grand Cru MANICLE, a unique cru in BUGEY renowned for its dominant position, facing south, under a limestone cliff, and former vineyard of Brillat Savarin, a French gastronome of the 19th century.
