Nature Reserve of the Lavours Marsh
The Lavours marsh is one of the last large continental marshes in Western Europe. It consists of a nature reserve of 500 ha of wet meadow traversed by a wooden path on stilts of 1.5 km and located at the foot of the Grand Colombier.
The nature reserve was created in 1984 to protect this marsh, rich in remarkable fauna and flora.
To access the marsh, a mandatory parking lot is available to visitors free of charge, at the entrance of Aignoz.
The wooden path on stilts
An educational trail on stilts of 1.2 km, accessible to all and open all year round, allows you to enter the heart of the Lavours Marsh.
The visitor can thus apprehend the richness of the nature reserve thanks to the educational panels arranged along the trail and inside the observatories. People in wheelchairs have access to the observatories arranged along the circuit.
Information in Braille also allows visually impaired people to learn about the fauna and flora of the Lavours Marsh.
It is important to respect the regulations of the nature reserve: dogs prohibited and no picking.
