Lake Virieu le Grand

Swimming lake, the lake in Virieu-le-Grand has a large beach, games for children and many picnic areas in the shade. Swimming is supervised in July and August.

A swimming spot with blue and green colored waters, the beach is supervised during the summer period. A few kilometers from the Grand Colombier, the water of the lake is ont of the best places to refresh yourself after a bike ride on the ViaRhôna, a walk in the nature reserve of the Marais de Lavours or a hike to the Clairefontaine waterfall.

A food truck is there around the lake during the summer.

Dogs are forbidden in the swimming area.
Camping is strictly prohibited. Picnicking is tolerated in the respect of the environment. Campfires and barbecues are strictly prohibited.

Fishing at the lake of Virieu le Grand

Private lake of 1st category where the amateurs of angling and fly fishing meet. Fishing is possible for holders of a valid fishing permit with the addition of annual or daily option.

Fishing is authorized all year round, from the shore or with a boat on the entire lake, the swimming activity prevails over the fishing activity, especially from the first of July to the 31st of August.
