Description
A tour of the Thoys II archaeological site and a presentation of the last two excavation campaigns.
Located in Arboys-en-Bugey, the Thoys II rock shelter has yielded artifacts dating back to several prehistoric occupations, the oldest of which date to the late Upper Paleolithic period, approximately 12,500 years ago. Recent research conducted in 2024 and 2025 has significantly expanded our knowledge of this exceptional site in southern Ain.
This guided tour and lecture will provide an opportunity to learn about the history of the excavations, the major archaeological discoveries, and the challenges of the ongoing research.
Meet at the Salle PreyBoisé.
