The Grand Colombier pass, now a staple of the Tour de France, will host the finish of this 7th stage of 133km with 3810m of elevation gain!
The ascent of the Giant of the Bugey region marks the heart of a great mountain weekend, serving as a dress rehearsal before the final stage to the Solaison plateau.
From Bridoire, the riders will tackle the Col du Banchet, the Col de la Crusille, and the Col du Mont Tournier in the first part of the stage before reaching Yenne, Belley, and then Culoz. In the second part, the peloton will climb the switchbacks of the Grand Colombier via Culoz before descending to Anglefort, then ascending the Rhône Valley to Chanay and the Col de Richemond, before descending the Valromey to climb the formidable slopes of the Grand Colombier from Virieu-le-Petit and its infamous 22% gradient!
