Description

This walking talk invites you to discover the history of medicinal plants, folk knowledge and beliefs that have shaped our relationship with plants over the centuries.
From healer to ‘witch’: how did these women, with their knowledge of plants, come to be progressively associated with magic and witchcraft? This story takes on particular significance in Rossillon, where, in 1467, six women were accused of witchcraft and burnt alive in the village square. Through their stories and the context of this case, the walking tour explores the boundary between folk knowledge, medicine, belief and accusations of witchcraft. By Nicolas Vincent-Morard Meet in front of the church.
