The AAPPMA holds and manages the fishing rights that it owns, negotiates, receives or rents on public or private land. It participates in the protection of aquatic environments, wildlife and areas essential to fish life. It carries out operations to develop fish farming areas. It monitors its grounds through volunteer wardens and federal wardens. All anglers fishing on the Bas-Bugey AAPPMA estate must have an annual, weekly or daily fishing licence. An additional card is required for boat or float-tube fishing on Lake Barterand.
