Description
To mark the 40th anniversary of the first stone sculptures, come and stroll along the ‘Chemins de la Pierre’ in Bugey, which began in Pollieu and wind their way through Marignieu, Vongnes and Ceyzérieu, all the way to Belley and Culoz.
Organised by the Pollieu Festival Committee, come and admire the work of the five stone carvers at work on stones from Hauteville. Finally, you can enjoy a drink or a delicious country meal in the courtyard of Pollieu Town Hall.
The history of stone in Pollieu over the last 40 years.
First and foremost, there is one name: Rémy de Lorenzi, artisan and stone sculptor from Bugey, who is the true driving force behind this venture.
A passion, boundless imagination and tireless energy have led him not only to create his own works, but also to organise major sculpture events to delight visitors.
Over these 40 years, sculptors from across the region have showcased their work in public.

>In 1991: Monumental sculpture of THE ROCK, on the shores of Lake Barterand.
>In 1994: Sculpture of coats of arms on the rock. In 2017: On the theme of heritage.
The 2026 project:
>3 and 4 July: engraving an aphorism or saying on stone… 5 sculptors at work over 2 days.
