Walks in the vineyards

The Bugey vineyards are best discovered on foot in the heart of traditional wine villages. Enjoy a gourmet getaway and the conviviality of the Bugey region by discovering its gentle hills and cellars during a stroll through the vineyards, so dear to Brillat-Savarin, the gastronome writer native of this area.

Lake and vineyards

This family-friendly loop through the Bugey vineyards will take you from the sculpted rocks of Lake Barterand to the Caveau Bugiste located in Vongnes, a winegrowing village with traditional architecture.

    For even more cellars and tasting, a slight detour of a few hundred meters will take you to Vongnes where the Domaine Monin, the Caveau bugiste and its museums welcome you!

    This hike in the heart of the Bugey vineyards will take you to the wine villages of Vongnes and Marignieu, as well as the chapel of Poirin.

      Vineyard stroll in Marignieu

      This circuit will take you to discover the charming village of Marignieu while passing from vineyard to vineyard on the slopes of this part of Bugey.

      La croix saint clair hike in Izieu

      Easy hike on the Route de la Grande Montagne offering a beautiful view of the South of Bugey from the atypical village of Izieu located at the southern end of Bugey and the Ain department.

        To make the most of it

        A few steps from the start of the hike, the Caveau Martin-Barbaz presents its AB-certified organic wines. Bugey white: Chardonnay, Roussette. Bugey red : Pinot, Mondeuse. Bugey rosé. Bugey Méthode traditionnelle white and rosé.

        Classified as a historical monument, Maison d’Izieu museum-memorial is one of the must-see places to visit in the region. A place of life that has become a place of national remembrance, Maison d’Izieu, a museum and memorial, invite you to discover history, justice and memory during guided tours of the house, browsing its permanent and temporary exhibitions.


        Le Golet au loup

        Hiking circuit of 7.6 km following the course of the river Séran with several beautiful points of interests:

        • The Fierloz.
        • The Cerveyrieu waterfall.
        • The Massignieu-de-Belmont vineyard.

        To make the most of it
        • Fierloz is a 74-hectare limestone plateau with lapiaz formed 140 million years ago.
        • The panorama from the Virgin of the Fierloz massif.
