Come and recharge your batteries at La Colonie, a 19th-century building in the heart of the Haut Valromey region. Two bedrooms and a table d'hôtes will allow you to enjoy dishes from the garden and local produce from our beautiful region.

The house is 210m2 and offers two double bedrooms with a shared bathroom and a work area.
There are two lounges on the ground floor. Each has a fireplace, so you can gather round the fire on a cosy winter's evening. A fine collection of board games for children and adults is freely available, and a library of books, comics and essays is available for long evenings in the garden or by the fire.
The grounds feature two terraces, a vegetable garden and chickens. We'll be happy to collect fruit, vegetables and eggs from the garden together, so that we can offer you meals based on home-grown or regional produce, and packed lunches for picnics.

The two bedrooms are on the first floor of the house. They are bright and airy, combining old-world charm with modern comforts, and decorated with antiques from local flea markets. With uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside and the Grand Colombier, your stay will be punctuated by the calm of the surrounding countryside.

The hosts will be available throughout your stay to accompany you, advise you and tell you about life in the region. Roadbooks are available to guide you on foot or by bike, from the house or from the various places of interest in the Haut Valromey or on the Plateau de Retord.
There is a storage area for bikes and/or winter equipment.
Shuttles to pick up people doing the GTJ on foot are available by prior arrangement. Five cross-country ski resorts are less than 20 minutes away by car.

The various producers have been listed so you can shop locally.
Courses in making herbal teas and soaps in fine weather are also available by prior arrangement.

Situated 1 hour from Geneva, Chambéry, Aix-les-Bains and Annecy, and 1h30 from Lyon, the house is easy to reach. The nearest shops are within easy driving distance.

A break at La Colonie is a promise of rest and reconnection with nature. Treat yourself to a time of conviviality, harmony and sharing by joining us for a night or more.
