From Lochieu, in the footsteps of the Carthusian monks who lived on the site of Arvières in the Grand Colombier massif, discovery of the Arvières national forest: ruins of the former Carthusian monastery, interpretation panels, ethnobotanical garden, restaurant.

This hike will take you in the footsteps of the Carthusian monks who inhabited the forests of the Grand Colombier from the 12th century to the French Revolution.
From about 800 meters in altitude, it will take you up to almost 1200 meters to discover the site of Arvière, a wild and isolated place, a privileged refuge for contemplative life.
To discover along the route:
- La Correrie d'Arvière in La Rivoire. (Another building used by monks in lower altitude).
- Le pont du Faon. (Bridge...This hike will take you in the footsteps of the Carthusian monks who inhabited the forests of the Grand Colombier from the 12th century to the French Revolution.
