Let’s set off on a cosmic adventure!
“Hello, young astronauts! This is Commander Lucie ARTHUR speaking. Welcome to the Lèbe Space Agency. You have just joined the prestigious LEXA program, which is dedicated to training future astronauts.”
Throughout the day, the children will take part in various challenges designed to give them a taste of life as an ESA astronaut.
- Test 1: Learning to navigate the night sky.
Make your own star chart and learn to use it like a real astronomer. Then set out to find the most famous constellations: can you spot Orion, the Big Dipper, or Cassiopeia?
- Test 2: Exploring our solar system.
Set out to explore our incredible Solar System: the planets, moons, asteroids… You’ll also learn to imagine the dizzying distances and impressive sizes of celestial bodies and discover the unique features of each planet and why it’s difficult to live on them today.
3rd test: Build your own rocket to go into space.
Build a realistic cardboard replica of the Saturn V rocket used by the Apollo missions to reach the Moon.
- 4th test: experience a spacewalk.
Embark on an extraordinary journey through space and discover the sensation of weightlessness as if you were really there. An amazing experience that lets you step into an astronaut’s shoes!
- 5th challenge: a message to space.
Before returning to Earth, come up with a message you could send to other civilizations, much like the Arecibo message.
Bring a picnic, a water bottle, warm clothes, and sneakers.
