The Lèbe Observatory welcomes curious children ages 8 to 12 for an unforgettable cosmic adventure combining science, imagination, and discovery.
The Lèbe Observatory welcomes curious children ages 8 to 12 for an unforgettable cosmic adventure combining science, imagination, and discovery.
Educational objectives:
- Discover astronomy in a fun and creative way.
- Understand scientific concepts through hands-on activities.
- Develop curiosity and critical thinking skills.
- Work as a team.
Bring a picnic lunch, a water bottle, warm clothes, and sneakers.
Program for the day:
1. Imagine and create an exoplanet using different materials.
“What might a distant planet look like? What is an exoplanet?” (colors, size, atmosphere, life forms, etc.)
Design your own exoplanet and invent a story for it (name, characteristics, imaginary inhabitants).
2. Observe the Sun live with a suitable telescope.
- Discover our star in complete safety.
3. Explore the Solar System
- Scale representation of the planets (distances and sizes),
- If the Earth were a marble, how big would Jupiter be?
- Which planet has rings? Which is the hottest?
4. Attend an immersive planetarium session

- How do you find your way around space? (stars, constellations, galaxies)
- Where does Earth fit into the universe?
5. Review your knowledge while having fun and debating open-ended questions
- Team game
