How do you define the loss of a child in a context of genocide or political violence? What did Jewish mothers go through during the Shoah? Who were the women who survived the death of their child(ren)?

At France's first conference on mothers in the Shoah, specialists will explore this painful question, recalling the experiences of the mothers of the children of Izieu and presenting the experiences of the mothers of Soacha in Colombia.

The symposium will feature lectures and previously unpublished personal accounts, and will be open to the general public either online or at the Maison d'Izieu.
