Passport to the stars at the Observatoire de la Lèbe

During this course, which will combine observations (of the sky and the Sun) and experiments, our amateur astronomers will be able to ask all their questions.
They'll learn how to use a sky chart, binoculars, a telescope and how to tell the difference between the stars and the planets, and recognise the different phases of the Moon.

Course programme:

- Learn how to spot the constellations, build a sky chart and know how to use it.
- Immersive session at the planetarium.
- Preparing for the evening, using an instrument.
- Observing the sun through a telescope and observing the night sky through a telescope.

- Relive the key events in the conquest of space through a game.
- Building a space shuttle
- Screening of the film Voyager, le périple sans fin at the planetarium.
- Navigate in space, from Earth to the limits of the known universe, using Mitaka software.
- Night-time telescope observation.

Course run by Laurent: scientific mediator at the Observatoire de la Lèbe (15 years' experience in astronomy and science activities) and BAFA activity leader.
