Concert de printemps MisaTango

Cultural, Concert, Choral in Belley
  • Following Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, the Ensemble Vocal d'Aix-Les-Bains and the Bel Air choir from Culoz are teaming up once again to present Martin Palmeri's MisaTango.

  • Born in 1965, Argentine composer Martin Palmeri wrote this tango mass, known as the "Buenos Aires Mass", in 1996. A daring blend of sacred music and tango, intense emotions and syncopated rhythms, it was performed in the Church of St Ignatius of Loyola in the Vatican as part of the International Festival of Sacred Music and Art. The press reports that it has become one of Pope Francis' favourite Masses and his 'sin mignon'.
