Synopsis
For centuries, priests have accompanied many people in their lives, in times of joy as well as trial. While the abuse scandal has marred the Church in recent years, priests remain a mystery. More than just a job, their function demands such a radical lifestyle, that of celibacy, the abandonment of fatherhood and a sober lifestyle. Antoine, a vagabond priest and former rider, travels the Ariège in his caravan to listen to the villagers. Gaspard, a mountain priest, urges young people to surpass themselves, to contemplate creation and to rid themselves of their addictions. François, an experienced priest from Paris, offers his wise view of the profound nature of the priesthood. Paul wants to win the French clergy cycling championship. Father Matthieu takes Jesus on a procession through the red light districts of the Philippines. Through their lives given to the world, the challenges of their commitment and of the priesthood in the 21st century are outlined.
